Resumé
The uniqueness of Christina Keating’s paintings lies just as much in what she eliminates as what she includes. Her most provocative compositions are those that reveal a portion of a room, or a view of water through a section of window. This technique imbues the work with an eloquent mystery and transcends the images from ordinary and predictable to romantic adventures. Because Keating does not always incorporate figures in her scenarios, the viewers are drawn in to complete the picture. Collectors of her work enjoy the lyrical images that offer the positive and carefree side of life.
